Houdahspot full diskaccess pdf#

For some reason, the 'contains phrase' criterion does not identify blank spaces. And it has been happening for about a month. The 'contains phrase' parameter has been broken for me too, on both of my Macs.

Is this a bug that Houdah recognizes and is working on? Is there any current way to do a genuinely universal text string search, e.g, for the file types Apple Mail, plain text, and PDF? While I have found a sort of work around, this means I can no longer simultaneously search PDFs and other types of text. I also discovered that the same file will be found by choosing 'File Extension > is > pdf. Playing around with other options in the Houdah Spot Refine box, I finally got it to a hit on my file when I selected 'Content Kind > is > PDF.' When I revert back to 'ANY' for Content Kind, the hit disappears, consistently. Spotlight had recently done a full index on my new MacBook Pro 16', running Monterey.)

Perplexed, I checked Spotlight, entering the two words inside enclosing quotes, and instantly got a hit on the PDF I knew contained the phrase. I was trying to search for a two-word text string today that I knew for sure was in a local PDF document and that I suspected could be found in many other PDF documents (books and published articles) on my computer. Without setting any other parameters, I entered the two words after 'Text Content > Contains Phrase' in the Refine box.
